The Spinners (known as “Detroit Spinners” in the UK) is a vocal group of the American R&B. They recorded song Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” is 1972. Melvin and Mervin Steals wrote the song. They work for Atlantic and we were sometimes credited as “Mystro and Lyric.”It was produced by Thom Bell produced it. It was recorded at Philly’s Sigma Sound Studios and the house band MFSB provided the backing for it. Most of the song is sing lead through by Bobby Smith while vocal duties on the song’s outro are handled by Philippé Wynne.
“I’ll Be Around,”- the group’s first hit for Atlantic Records. And “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” is Released as the follow-up single to it. It would equal the success of its predecessor. Clearly, its peak at number one on the R&B chart and number four on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. Besides, it sold over one million copies. It peak at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart when the song also found success in the UK.
